The Iraqi government has dismissed reports suggesting plans to obtain 16 trillion dinars in foreign loans from several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, China, Germany and France, to address the state budget deficit.

Government spokesperson Haider Al-Aboudi said the reports were unfounded, stressing that current oil export indicators do not warrant resorting to such borrowing. He added that the government's financial approach focuses on boosting domestic revenues and using them to meet public expenditure and state obligations.
