The Iraqi Private Banks Association said on Sunday that the Central Bank of Iraq continues to accommodate all requests for overseas dollar transfers, highlighting the country’s substantial foreign currency reserves as a key factor supporting market confidence and exchange rate stability.

The association’s Executive Director, Ali Tareq, confirmed that international dollar transfer operations remain ongoing, with the central bank continuing to process all submitted requests.

He explained that political and security developments can influence dollar movements in local markets. However, he stressed that Iraq’s strong foreign reserves provide the central bank with sufficient capacity to meet market demand and help maintain exchange rate stability.

On banking sanctions, Tareq stated that financial institutions are currently adhering to applicable domestic and international standards, expressing hope that Iraq will avoid additional financial penalties in the coming period.
