Ribaz Hamlan officially assumed his duties as Iraq’s Minister of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works on Monday, pledging to support Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi’s efforts and push forward projects outlined in the government’s program.

In a statement, the ministry said the official handover ceremony was held at its headquarters, where Hamlan received the ministerial portfolio from Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein, who had been serving as acting minister, in the presence of senior ministry officials.

Hamlan highlighted the improvement of public services, the reconstruction of Iraq and the development of its cities as key priorities for the ministry in the coming period. He also stressed the need to intensify efforts to complete projects included in the government’s plans.

The minister called on ministry officials and employees to strengthen coordination and work collectively to deliver service projects, improve infrastructure and meet citizens’ expectations across the country.
