Tuesday called for accelerating the completion of master plans for new cities planned across Baghdad and other Iraqi provinces, paving the way for their implementation.
A statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office said Al-Zaidi chaired a meeting dedicated to reviewing preparations for the projects. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs, the Head of the Prime Minister’s Advisory Board, and several advisers and director generals.
Al-Zaidi emphasized the need to finalize the designs promptly following the allocation of the required land. He explained that the planned cities would serve as integrated urban centres featuring government offices, commercial and economic facilities, recreational amenities, and extensive residential complexes, with the aim of improving public services and administrative performance.
The meeting also reviewed the steps taken by the relevant committees to prepare the master plans and determine implementation requirements. Al-Zaidi stressed the importance of adopting sustainable solutions to address challenges affecting public services and infrastructure.
