The Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Haibat al-Halbousi, affirmed Baghdad's firm commitment to taking concrete steps to consolidate weapons under state control and end the presence of armed factions, noting the existence of a broad political consensus supporting these measures to strengthen Iraqi sovereignty.

During a joint press conference held today in Ankara with the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Numan Kurtulmus, al-Halbousi explained that the recent measures taken by Turkey to dismantle and disarm the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) through legislative frameworks represent a fundamental pillar of regional security.

For his part, Kurtulmus stressed the importance of eliminating terrorism to ensure the stability of the region, expressing his hope that the principle of "a Turkey without terrorism" will positively impact the security and stability of Iraq and neighboring countries.
