U.S. President Donald Trump affirmed that American forces are prepared to conduct further military strikes against Iran, following operations by U.S. Central Command that targeted more than ten Iranian oil tankers. Trump noted that the conflict with Tehran might conclude shortly after the midterm elections, while also projecting a drop in oil prices following the vote.

Despite the heightened rhetoric, Trump did not rule out future diplomacy, explaining that while he is not currently seeking an agreement with Tehran, negotiations remain a possibility where a wide range of issues could be addressed.

Furthermore, Trump cautioned Tehran against taking any impulsive actions, raising the prospect of a targeted strike on the "Jabal al-Fas" (Axe Mountain) site located near the Natanz uranium enrichment facility. Addressing a Republican gathering ahead of the midterms, he stated that the administration has detected military activity at the site, advising Iranian leadership to heed the warning to prevent severe military retaliation.
