Zahraa Al-Salmi, head of the Legal and Administrative Reform Committee at the Basra Provincial Council, has requested that the provincial administration provide all documents and records related to the mangrove planting contract included in the One Million Trees Project.
Al-Salmi said the request followed an appeal circulated on social media regarding the project. She noted that she had formally contacted the provincial administration to obtain details of the contract and the procedures followed during its conclusion and implementation.
She added that the requested documents will be subject to legal and administrative review to verify the soundness of the procedures and their compliance with applicable laws and regulations, while strengthening oversight and safeguarding public funds.
