Iraqi Parliament Speaker Heibat Al-Halbousi reaffirmed Iraq’s support for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Sunday, emphasizing the need for stronger cooperation and unified positions among Islamic countries in addressing current challenges.
In a statement, the Speaker’s Media Office said Al-Halbousi received OIC Secretary-General Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed to discuss the organization’s activities and programs aimed at expanding cooperation among member states.
The meeting also addressed ways to strengthen Islamic solidarity, improve joint action mechanisms, and coordinate positions on issues and crises facing Islamic nations.
Al-Halbousi reiterated Iraq’s commitment to supporting the organization’s efforts, stressing the importance of intensified coordination and a unified approach to confronting ongoing crises and developments.
