Iraq’s Federal Integrity Commission confirmed the detention of two Mosul Municipality staff members following an investigation into the theft of 60 official collection receipt books used to illicitly gather funds.
According to the commission statement, one employee unlawfully retrieved the blank receipt books from the revenue division and transferred them to the second suspect for payment, intending to generate unauthorized profits. Law enforcement secured seals, cash, and official receipts during the operation, leading the specialized Integrity Investigation Court in Nineveh to order their arrest under Article (444/11) of the Iraqi Penal Code.
