French energy company TotalEnergies announced net earnings of $8.3 billion for the third quarter of 2026, representing a 124% rise from the corresponding period last year. The increase was largely attributed to stronger refining margins, particularly for diesel and aviation fuel, as geopolitical tensions and supply constraints disrupted global energy markets. The company's oil trading and liquefied natural gas businesses also recorded gains amid fluctuating energy prices.
