Iraq’s Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency has arrested several suspects accused of operating an illegal manufacturing facility specializing in counterfeit products in Najaf province. Authorities also seized large quantities of goods bearing the names of well-known international brands.

The agency stated that the operation followed intelligence reports indicating suspected industrial and commercial fraud involving the imitation of established detergent brands. A specialized team was formed under the supervision of the Deputy Minister for Intelligence and Federal Investigations to investigate the case.

Surveillance and investigative efforts led security personnel to a facility located on agricultural land, allegedly chosen to conceal the operation from law enforcement. During the raid, officers discovered equipment and supplies used to prepare, fill and package counterfeit products.

The suspects reportedly admitted purchasing raw materials and packaging them in containers labeled with the names of international companies to generate illicit profits. They allegedly used the agricultural location to avoid detection. The agency confirmed that the required legal and investigative procedures are underway.
