Iraqi Army forces from the 8th Mechanized Infantry Division have launched a preemptive security operation in the Zab Edge area of Kirkuk province, as part of efforts to strengthen security, track down wanted individuals, and curb terrorist threats.

In a statement, the Ministry of Defense said a force from the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion, part of the 32nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade, carried out the operation, known as “Page Six,” within the jurisdiction of the Kirkuk Operations Command.

The ministry noted that the operation was conducted in line with approved military directives and operational orders, following a designated timetable for a comprehensive search of the area. The mission aims to eliminate terrorist safe havens, reinforce security across the sector, and apprehend individuals wanted by the judiciary.
