plans to expand and upgrade the country’s oil tanker fleet, which currently consists of six medium and small-sized vessels, with a strategy to purchase larger tankers and establish partnerships with specialized maritime transport companies.

Ministry spokesperson Salim Al-Rikabi said the plans include acquiring large-capacity tankers and signing partnership agreements with reputable companies experienced in maritime transportation.

He explained that leasing tankers from other companies is intended to provide additional capacity for crude oil storage or transportation beyond the strait.
