Iraq’s Minister of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, Ribaz Hamlan, on Tuesday called for streamlined administrative procedures and the removal of obstacles hindering the distribution of residential plots allocated to Iraqi army personnel.
According to a ministry statement, Hamlan met with Defence Minister Naif al-Shammari at the ministry’s headquarters to discuss several joint issues, particularly the Al-Fursan Housing City project in Baghdad and the allocation of residential land across the provinces to army officers, enlisted personnel and civilian employees of the Defence Ministry.
The statement noted that the meeting focused on speeding up distribution procedures and addressing challenges that could delay the implementation of the housing allocation plan.
Hamlan stressed the importance of continued coordination between the two ministries, reaffirming his ministry’s readiness to provide the necessary support and directing relevant departments to accelerate the process in recognition of the armed forces’ service and sacrifices.
