Two separate security incidents were reported in Diyala Province, with the first involving the discovery of the body of Abbas Jawad Akkash, director of the Water Department in Abu Saida district, inside a farm in the northeastern part of the province.

Initial information indicated that Akkash had been shot dead. Police classified the case as a criminal incident, while his family filed a complaint against several suspects. Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances of the killing and identify those responsible.

In a separate case, the National Security Service arrested two officers traveling in a civilian vehicle carrying smuggled and untested medicines on a road in Diyala.

The seized medications were reportedly classified as psychotropic substances and are prohibited from being distributed through pharmacies. The two officers were taken to a security center for questioning and further legal action.
