Affairs Laith Al-Khazali on Monday called for accelerating efforts to document and classify illegal encroachments on state-owned land, while taking measures to prevent further violations.

In a statement, his media office said Al-Khazali chaired a government meeting focused on informal settlements and various forms of encroachment, attended by representatives of relevant ministries and government agencies. The discussions addressed legal and administrative obstacles and explored sustainable ways to resolve them.

Al-Khazali highlighted the importance of adopting a humanitarian and social approach, taking into consideration the living conditions and stability of affected families while preserving citizens' dignity and protecting state property and legal rights.

The meeting reviewed mechanisms for implementing Cabinet decisions, particularly Resolution No. 320, and discussed challenges involving agricultural land and land-use rights.

Al-Khazali instructed the relevant authorities to accelerate the preparation of an accurate database documenting and categorizing encroachments in coordination with concerned institutions, while preventing any new violations. He also called for streamlining administrative procedures and establishing clear deadlines for their completion.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on finalizing the necessary legal and technical proposals for submission to the Prime Minister, paving the way for fair and sustainable solutions that safeguard state property and provide stability for affected families.
