The United States announced that the Strait of Hormuz had been secured for U.S. vessels, while Iran had been barred from using the strategic waterway, according to Washington.

The U.S. administration said its forces had cleared several shipping routes of mines it attributed to Iran, allowing maritime traffic to continue safely through the strait.
