Iraq’s Ministry of Finance announced that Rafidain Bank has finalized the technical preparations and electronic connectivity required to launch its loan service through the SuperQi application, with applications set to open on Saturday, October 24.
The ministry said the service will be available to civilian and military employees, as well as retirees whose salaries are transferred through Rafidain Bank and who hold its banking cards. Applications will be received in batches of 5,000, after which the application link will be temporarily closed until the submitted requests have been processed.
According to the ministry, the bank will review applications, complete administrative procedures, and conduct the necessary credit checks before transferring loan funds to eligible applicants’ accounts. Disbursements will take place gradually on a daily basis.
The application link will be reactivated once the processing of each batch is completed, allowing a further 5,000 applicants to submit their requests. The process will continue in successive rounds under the same system.
Rafidain Bank clarified that the temporary closure is intended to manage applications and facilitate the completion of procedures, rather than suspend the service or permanently end the application period. Customers were urged to apply exclusively through official channels and avoid individuals or entities demanding money in exchange for guaranteed approval or faster loan disbursement.
The initiative follows a directive issued by Finance Minister Falih Sari during his visit to Rafidain Bank on Monday, instructing the bank to launch the loan service to make financing more accessible to employees and retirees in line with the applicable regulations.
