Oil prices extended their gains on Thursday as renewed U.S. strikes on Iran and fresh Israeli threats against Tehran heightened concerns over possible disruptions to crude supplies across the Middle East.

Brent crude futures rose $1.76, or 1.8%, to $97.39 a barrel by 10:25 GMT, reversing earlier losses in the session.

U.S. West Texas Intermediate futures climbed $1.91, or 2.1%, to $92.92 a barrel.

Both benchmarks were heading for a fourth straight day of gains, after hitting their highest levels in around six weeks earlier in the session, as markets remained focused on the potential impact of escalating regional tensions on oil flows.
