Iraq’s Ministry of Oil announced on Monday the commencement of employment procedures for 327 graduates of the Oil Institute in Basra Governorate. Basra Gas Company will recruit 227 graduates, while TotalEnergies will employ a further 100.
According to the ministry, candidates were selected based on graduation seniority and the relevance of their academic specializations to the companies’ operational requirements. The process was supervised by a specialized ministerial committee, with the participation of South Gas Company, to ensure transparency and alignment with workforce needs.
The ministry added that similar recruitment measures will be extended to investment companies and other subsidiary firms, as part of broader efforts to create job opportunities for as many graduates of oil institutes and other disciplines as possible in Baghdad and across Iraq’s governorates.
