This warning follows developments over the past forty-eight hours which, according to informed sources, have solidified Tehran's resolve to implement a new military and strategic doctrine. The updated Iranian strategy stipulates that the Islamic Republic will respond with overwhelming force in the event of any new attack on its territory or interests. Sources reported that the new "Iranian retaliatory framework" involves two immediate actions following any strike targeting the country. The first action is the complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz to all maritime navigation. The second action involves targeting enemy objectives with a double ratio, meaning at least two enemy targets will be struck for every Iranian target attacked. It was added that the memorandum of understanding regarding this issue clearly states that Iran will reopen the Strait according to its own arrangements, and will not permit the establishment of any new route outside these arrangements.
