Global gold prices reached $4,023 per ounce, with local retail gold rates ranging between 368,000 IQD for 9-karat and 900,000 IQD for 22-karat per mithqal (with 21-karat trading at 860,000 IQD). Concurrently, the US dollar registered a modest decline against the Iraqi dinar, trading at 152,500 IQD per $100 in Baghdad's Al-Kifah Exchange and 152,250 IQD in Al-Harithiya. Rates settled at 151,000 IQD in Basra and 152,000 IQD in the Erbil currency exchange.
