Iraq’s Ajil oilfield in Salah al-Din is set for a major development program under a 25-year operating contract between North Oil Company and “KIPET”, aimed at boosting crude oil and gas production and maximizing the use of associated gas.
The plan targets an increase in crude output from around 30,000 to 40,000 barrels per day, while gas production is expected to rise from 135 million to 300 million standard cubic feet per day.
The project includes upgrading infrastructure and processing and transportation facilities to accommodate higher output, with the additional gas expected to support power generation, local industries and the production of liquefied gas and condensates.
Once the targets are reached, the project is expected to add around 10,000 barrels of oil and 165 million standard cubic feet of gas per day, strengthening domestic energy supplies and reducing gas waste and flaring.
