Iraq's National Security Service announced on Friday that it had dismantled a drug trafficking network operating in Diwaniyah province and arrested 31 individuals suspected of involvement in the illicit trade.
According to an official statement, security personnel seized quantities of crystal methamphetamine and narcotic pills, in addition to equipment used for drug consumption. The total weight of the confiscated substances was approximately one kilogram.
The agency said the operation was conducted following intelligence gathering and close surveillance, which enabled specialized teams to monitor the suspects' movements and identify their locations before arresting them under judicial warrants.
The suspects and seized materials have since been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings
