The United States has cleared a potential $800 million military deal with Iraq involving the sale of helicopters and associated equipment.
The U.S. State Department said the proposed agreement is part of the Foreign Military Sales program, which enables allied countries to purchase American defense systems and military equipment.
Under the proposed deal, Bell Textron would act as the main contractor. The agreement remains subject to the necessary U.S. reviews and formal approval procedures before it can be finalized.
