Members of the UN Security Council called on Yemeni and regional parties to engage seriously with UN-led efforts to resolve the crisis through a comprehensive and sustainable political settlement.
In a joint statement, the Council urged an end to reciprocal military operations, the cessation of Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, and efforts to prevent further escalation around the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
Council members warned that continued developments on the ground could affect the safety of international maritime navigation, global trade flows and energy supplies, while reaffirming their support for UN efforts to ease tensions and pave the way for renewed negotiations.
