The UAE Public Prosecution has launched an investigation into an incident involving a Flydubai flight traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv that diverted from its route and landed safely at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia.

UAE Attorney General Hamad Saif Al Shamsi ordered the formation of a specialized investigation team to collect evidence and information, establish the circumstances surrounding the incident, and determine its motives. The team will also examine whether the incident had any connection to terrorist activity or involved prior planning or instructions.

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that investigators have begun their work in coordination with the General Civil Aviation Authority and other relevant agencies. The investigation follows Flydubai’s announcement that an altercation took place inside the cockpit during the flight, prompting crew members to intervene and secure the aircraft.
