Kirkuk Police Command announced the arrest of two individuals accused of illegally fishing with electric-shocking devices in the Lower Zab River, within the jurisdiction of the river police in the Altun Kupri area.
The command stated that the suspects were apprehended during routine patrols while using prohibited equipment that threatens fish populations and disrupts the river’s aquatic ecosystem.
The equipment was confiscated, and legal proceedings were initiated against the suspects. They were then transferred to the relevant police station for further investigation and subsequent judicial procedures in accordance with applicable laws
