Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf stated that Tehran had foiled a US plan to launch security and military operations against Iran from Iraq’s Kurdistan Region during the recent war.
Qalibaf made the remarks during a meeting with Patriotic Union of Kurdistan leader Bafel Talabani in Tehran, accusing the United States and Israel of attempting to deepen divisions among regional countries, particularly between Iran and Iraq.
Meanwhile, Iranian Supreme Leader’s adviser Ali Akbar Velayati emphasized Iraq’s significant position in Iran’s foreign policy and called for vigilance against the ambitions of certain regional powers
