Iraqi President Nizar Amedi received several congratulatory messages on Thursday marking Iraq’s National Day, including greetings from Pope Leo XIV, Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, and Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
Pope Leo XIV congratulated the Iraqi president on the occasion, conveying his wishes for lasting peace, solidarity and prosperity for Iraq and its people. He also highlighted the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Holy See and Iraq, emphasizing the importance of the milestone in strengthening bilateral ties.
Jordan’s King Abdullah II likewise extended his congratulations to President Amedi, expressing, on behalf of himself, the Jordanian government and people, his sincere fraternal sentiments and wishes for continued progress and prosperity for Iraq and its people.
Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tarik also sent his congratulations, wishing Iraq continued security and stability and further advancement and prosperity for its people.
