The operation resulted in the seizure of $100,000 in counterfeit U.S. currency, along with forged Iraqi banknotes and real estate sale and purchase contracts worth approximately 9.5 billion Iraqi dinars.
Authorities also recovered property deeds and documents, checks, powers of attorney and various stamps, in addition to other contracts valued at around $1.75 million.
The seized items further included money-counting and sorting machines, financial records, bank cards, residency documents and a firearm.
The National Security Service said the suspect was linked to regional networks involved in currency counterfeiting and circulation. He and the seized materials were referred to the relevant authorities for the completion of legal procedures.
