Lebanon’s exports to Iraq rose substantially in the second quarter of 2026, reaching approximately $597 million, compared with $357 million in the first quarter. The increase of $240 million represented a growth rate of 67.2%.

According to data from the International Trade Centre, gold ranked as the leading Lebanese export to Iraq, with shipments valued at around $204 million in the second quarter, up from $34 million in the previous quarter. The surge in gold exports was the main contributor to the overall increase.

Other key exports included copper waste and scrap, unwrought lead, phosphate fertilizers, electrical transformers, natural calcium phosphates, aluminium and iron scrap, clothing, and prepared fruits and nuts.

The figures point to a significant expansion in merchandise trade between Lebanon and Iraq during the second quarter of the year, with the sharp rise in gold shipments playing a central role in boosting the total value of Lebanese exports to the Iraqi market.
