Commercial private generators in Kut city were completely shut down today amid a shortage of gas oil (kerosene) and a rise in the price of a barrel to around 250,000 Iraqi dinars.
Generator owners said the fuel shortage and higher prices have significantly increased operating costs, urging the relevant authorities to address the supply crisis, provide sufficient quantities of fuel at affordable prices, and ensure the continued operation of generators and electricity services for residents.
