Five Palestinians, including four women, were killed and more than five others injured early Saturday in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a residential apartment in western Gaza City, Palestinian medical and local sources reported.

According to the sources, the strike hit the ground floor of a residential building near the United Nations Roundabout, sparking a fire and causing damage to the property.

Ambulance and civil defense crews continued search and rescue operations at the site amid reports that people could still be trapped beneath the rubble.

The incident comes as Israeli strikes continue in several parts of the Gaza Strip despite the ceasefire announced in October 2025.
