The Ministry of Planning held its 15th meeting of the committee tasked with preparing for the Fourth Arab Summit on Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), reviewing the latest arrangements for the upcoming event.

The meeting, chaired by Technical Undersecretary Maher Hamad Johan, brought together committee members and representatives of supporting entities.

Participants reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting and discussed the observations submitted by committee members. The negotiation team also presented the results of its discussions with the organizing company, including the financial proposal and reductions achieved in the project’s overall cost.

The committee decided to invite representatives of the organizing company for direct discussions to finalize the provisions covered by the remaining price reductions and confirm the outcomes of the preparatory committee and the ESCWA team.

The media committee reviewed comments and proposals related to the media aspects of the financial proposal, with the aim of approving the summit’s final promotional plan.

Financial preparations were also discussed, including procedures to open an account with the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI). The sponsors committee presented the results of its second conference for private colleges and discussed preparations for a third sponsors conference dedicated to banks.

The meeting further addressed correspondence with international organizations and agencies, including the World Bank, the United Nations and the European Union, as well as Korean, Japanese and German agencies.

The technical committee presented the latest figures on local and international registrants, categorized by startups, projects, media companies, media professionals and experts.

The participants emphasized the need to continue regular meetings to complete the remaining preparations and ensure the project proceeds according to the established timetable.
