A well-informed source said Monday that leaders of Iraq’s Coordination Framework will hold a meeting this evening with Prime Minister Ali Al-Zeidi and Finance Minister Faleh Sari to discuss several government and political files, notably the 2027 budget and the completion of the cabinet.

The source said the talks will cover the issue of placing all weapons under state control, as well as the remaining ministerial nominations and the vote to complete the cabinet. The vote is expected to take place by the end of this week or at the beginning of next week.

The finance minister is also expected to brief the meeting on the draft 2027 budget law and related financial and economic matters, including issues with political implications.

The Coordination Framework said following an emergency meeting last Friday that June 30, 2027, had been set as the agreed final deadline for implementing the constitutional provision addressing the weapons issue, while urging all sides to maintain calm.

Meanwhile, a source said the State of Law Coalition has formally nominated Yasser Sakheel for the Interior Ministry, while Haider Baha, dean of the College of Pharmacy at Al-Nahrain University, has been nominated for the Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry.
