Iraq’s Interior Ministry on Monday denied reports of an explosion in Baghdad’s Al-Sham’iya area on the Rusafa side of the capital.
Ministry spokesperson Colonel Mohammed Ali Al-Hassoun said the incident was not an explosion, but a fire that broke out at an electricity station and was accompanied by a loud noise, prompting reports of an explosion.
Preliminary information indicated that one person was killed and three others were injured in the incident.
