According to Kpler data cited by Business Standard, Indian imports of Iraqi crude averaged around 579,000 barrels per day through September 27, compared with approximately 163,000 barrels per day in August.
Russia remained India’s largest supplier at 1.742 million barrels per day, followed by Saudi Arabia at 570,000 barrels, the UAE at 483,000 barrels and Kuwait at 333,000 barrels per day.
India’s overall crude imports averaged 5.251 million barrels per day during the period, up 13% from the August average of 4.654 million barrels per day.
Iraqi supplies therefore increased by around 416,000 barrels per day in September, strengthening Iraq’s position in the Indian crude market.
