its medal collection at the Asian Open Championship in Amman, Jordan, after securing three additional medals — gold, silver and bronze — taking the country's overall tally to ten.

Iraqi Judo Federation President Uday Al-Rubaie stated that Ghadir Maher captured the gold medal in the women's 63kg category after defeating her Jordanian rival in the final. Meanwhile, Jawad Thaer claimed silver in the 81kg division.

Al-Rubaie also confirmed that Laith Hussam secured the bronze medal, adding to Iraq's growing success and maintaining the team's strong presence among the championship's top competitors.

He attributed the achievements to the athletes' solid technical preparation, competitive determination and commitment to representing Iraq with distinction at the continental event.

The championship brought together 129 male and female athletes from 22 Asian and European countries, with participants competing at a high technical level.
