Iraq and Kuwait agreed on Thursday to continue joint efforts to reinforce border security and improve coordination and information sharing between their relevant agencies.
The Iraqi Border Forces said Commander Lieutenant General Mohammed Abdul Wahab Sukkar met with Major General Mujbil Fahad bin Shawq, head of Kuwait’s Border Security and Coast Guard Sector, at a border point on the Kuwaiti side.
The talks addressed ways to expand security cooperation, strengthen protection of the shared border, enhance information exchange and coordinate on issues of mutual concern.
Both sides emphasized the need for continued communication between the two countries’ security institutions to maintain stability along the border and support their shared interests.
