state-owned Indian refining company has purchased around two million barrels of Basra Medium and Basra Heavy crude for delivery later in October, at a discount of about $28 per barrel against the October benchmark on a free-on-board basis.

Two trading sources cited by Reuters said the Indian refiner bought the cargo from oil trading firm Mercuria, following a tender for Iraqi crude scheduled for delivery between October 21 and 31.
