U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth praised the crew of the USS Abraham Lincoln following a combat deployment that lasted more than 260 consecutive days without making a port call.
Speaking aboard the aircraft carrier, Hegseth said the crew conducted thousands of combat sorties, launched hundreds of Tomahawk missiles and used more than one million pounds of ordnance during operations against Iranian targets. He also said the campaign resulted in the sinking of dozens of Iranian warships and the destruction of anti-ship missiles.
