Gold prices recorded modest gains on Tuesday, supported by a decline in U.S. Treasury yields, although expectations of persistently high interest rates continued to restrain the precious metal’s advance.

Spot gold rose 0.3% to $4,357.31 per ounce, while U.S. gold futures for December delivery also gained 0.3%, reaching $4,395 per ounce.

The yield on 10-year U.S. Treasury notes declined for a second consecutive session, offering additional support to gold prices.

Other precious metals also moved higher. Spot silver gained 0.7% to $66.48 per ounce, platinum rose 0.8% to $1,811.28, while palladium increased 0.7% to $1,309.78 per ounce.
