Iraqi Finance Minister Faleh Sari announced on Sunday that the permanent employment of contract workers has been included in the draft federal budget for 2027.
During a meeting of the Supreme Committee for Budget Preparation, Sari said the budget draft also incorporates the file of contract workers and daily wage employees, following the completion of efforts to verify their numbers and records, calculate the financial costs of permanent employment, and secure the required allocations.
He noted that the Ministry of Finance had completed the financial and technical requirements related to the issue, stressing that its inclusion in the budget draft moves the matter from the stage of demands to formal government procedures.
