The US administration has revealed high-level discussions between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, focusing on key framework plans to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. A White House official confirmed that these discussions align with specific steps slated for release in the near future.

In response, President Putin dismissed claims of a formal agreement with Kyiv for a broader three-day ceasefire. However, he noted that Russia paused strikes against the capital starting September 5, which coincided with a marked decrease in Ukrainian targetings inside Russian territory. Putin reiterated to the US envoys that Moscow remains fully committed to safeguarding mediators and preserving the integrity of the peace talks.
