In response, President Putin dismissed claims of a formal agreement with Kyiv for a broader three-day ceasefire. However, he noted that Russia paused strikes against the capital starting September 5, which coincided with a marked decrease in Ukrainian targetings inside Russian territory. Putin reiterated to the US envoys that Moscow remains fully committed to safeguarding mediators and preserving the integrity of the peace talks.
