Iraqi crude prices jumped back on a growth trajectory at the start of September 2026, bouncing back from the sharp monthly decline experienced in July.
According to official figures cited by Shafaq News, Basrah Medium dipped by nearly 7.9% in July to hit $78.37 a barrel—down $6.73 from June’s average of $85.10.
However, the trend reversed in August as prices reclaimed the $80 threshold, paving the way for further rally into early September. On September 4, the crude reached $85.97 per barrel, effectively beating July’s average by $7.60 and aligning closely with June figures, highlighting a resilient performance for Iraq’s primary export.
