A demonstration in Baghdad involving top graduates and holders of higher academic degrees witnessed tensions and confrontations with riot police as protesters demanded employment opportunities that reflect their academic qualifications.
Video footage from the protest showed several demonstrators being subjected to physical confrontations during the gathering.
The protesters called for the allocation of government positions and the creation of employment opportunities, particularly for those holding master’s and doctoral degrees. They said their years of academic study and specialization should be utilized within state institutions.
The demonstrators also urged government authorities to adopt practical and serious measures to address their employment demands and provide clear solutions for top graduates and higher-degree holders
