Saudi Arabia’s National Shipping Company reported the deaths of two Filipino crew members aboard its oil tanker Sidr following an attack as the vessel was sailing through the Strait of Hormuz.
The company said the incident took place on August 31, when three unidentified projectiles were fired at the tanker as it navigated through the Omani section of the strategic waterway.
The company added that it is maintaining direct communication with the remaining crew members while coordinating with authorities and security partners to follow up on the incident and its impact on maritime operations
