An armed attack on a Popular Mobilization Forces checkpoint in the Altun Kupri area of Kirkuk province early Thursday left one member dead and another wounded.
According to preliminary reports, two gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on the checkpoint before fleeing the scene.
Security forces are pursuing the attackers, while surveillance footage captured the incident and showed one of the suspects with his face uncovered.
