Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said talks in Oman on Monday will address a proposed new maritime corridor through the Strait of Hormuz, with Iraq and several Gulf states expected to participate.
He said Tehran will outline the terms of its understanding with Muscat, including maps of the proposed route and procedures governing navigation and vessel movements.
Araghchi stressed that the arrangement with Oman should not be viewed as a full reopening of the strait. He said Iran still considers a comprehensive reopening conditional on the United States resuming its commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum.
The meeting comes amid ongoing regional efforts to establish temporary navigation arrangements aimed at keeping maritime traffic moving while easing tensions around the strategic waterway.
Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein confirmed that Baghdad will send a delegation to the Oman meeting.
